I’ve been doing work experience at Chalk and Ward for just over a month. I sent them a message via their website and got back saying they’d be more than happy to give me experience for as long as I wanted to help me with university applications. They’ve been guiding me through the different parts that make up marketing to make sure I have an amazing experience that can benefit me and aid me later on in my own work.
Since being here, I’ve been given loads of opportunities to learn how to do different things within the company. This includes looking over their client list, going through their websites, and giving my own input about what works and what doesn’t work. They’re always open to receiving any feedback, focusing on making sure each client has the best chance of succeeding and reaching as many customers as possible.
They’ve allowed me to have a hands-on experience by helping me write articles for different clients to help them reach their customers and advertise different features within their business. I’ve also worked alongside other people writing different ads for clients to help advertise new offers coming later in the year. They’ve been supportive, answering any questions I have and always making sure I know what I’m doing. As well as this, I’ve also been able to observe different parts of the business. I’ve been able to join meetings with other clients, learning how websites can be adapted behind the scenes to appeal to a wider audience and target those who would be more interested in specific products. Other meetings include a debrief of the week and updating the whole team on any situations that need attention, as well as talking about how to help existing and new clients so that they can achieve their goals.
As well as this, I’ve been introduced to different types of software to help communicate with other members of the team, and different websites to help enhance my writing and work to target the correct audience. Chalk and Ward have helped me learn as much as possible to make the experience as enlightening as possible and allows me to also work independently on different things specific companies want added to their websites – specifically articles.
Despite it being short, I’ve enjoyed my time at Chalk and Ward. The team are incredibly welcoming, helpful and encouraging, and are always looking to help their clients however they need. They’ve given me an amazing experience to help me with my future career and helped me become independent and knowledgeable within the work they give me.
